Soccer Camp 2012

Phew. I'm almost getting caught up.
The fourth week of our summer holidays was soccer camp. Soccer camp is put on by Athletes in Action and is a great program!!! Its lots of soccer and skills, but also times of devotions and "Coaches Corner".  Kevin and Jeremy were joined by Kade and Meika this year and they all loved it.   They had some extremely HOT days and one rainy day too, but my kids were excited to go every day and never complained about the heat at all.  It probably helped that they cooled off at Opa and Oma's pool every day when we dropped Jeremy and Meika off.
Here is the whole group getting some instructions:
Kevin's team this year was called "Hippopotomi".
Every team makes up a cheer which they use all week. Kevin's goes like this:
 Hippopotomi (long I sound)
We make the ball fly,
We'll make you cry, cry,
We're the black hippopotomi.
Kade's team was the "Golden Cheetah's" and his cheer goes like this:
Golden Cheetah's are real fast
We will never be in last.
Goooooooolden Cheetahs!
Roar!
Meika . . . .and Kade in the background.

 Jeremy
Getting their certificates on the last day . . .

Meika's team (she had to leave just before the closing ceremonies) won the younger division.
And Kevin's team won the older division . . . .(finally he is on a winning soccer team;0)) and he scored the winning goal too I think!
Everyone gets a certificate in the closing program.

 Kevin
 Kade
(and Jeremy was gone before I grabbed a picture of him).
This was a fun week for the boys . . . but I think a lot of the fun had to do with seeing their cousins everyday - and they all got to have a sleepover at Opa and Oma's with Jeremy and Meika, so that was a highlight and greatly anticipated event of the week.
