Ode to Family Camping
This family of ours,
Tends to bring on the showers.
When camping we go,
The rain sure does flow.
All of July,
It was VERY dry,
The grass was brown
When we left town
Then the drizzle did start
The clouds did part.
It didn’t take long for things to get wet,
But rain hasn’t scared any one of US yet!
We really are getting quite good at this now,
Though we wish we didn’t need to know how.
Tarps, boots, and umbrellas are at the top of the list,
I’m sure you’re beginning to get the gist.
We had some rain and some mud once again,
Cause it seems like that’s just what happens when
Our week of camping comes along
We wished the weather forecast was totally wrong.
But the good news is, we also had sun
And of course we also had a whole lot of fun.
A bit of wet, doesn’t ruin our week,
And soon I’ll let you have a peek
Of our week long stay at Port Burwell,
A bit of our week, the pictures will tell
The kids had a blast,
Made memories that will last
The adults enjoyed the great company
There was lots of time to visit you see.
And when the week was done,
Out came the sun.
My grass was as green
As its ever been.
Next year we’ll be back
We’re getting the knack
But we may try July,
Because we like to be dry.
