We did swimming lessons the first two weeks offered again. I think it was the only two weeks that really worked for us, but ideally it would have been better for us to do lessons a little later in the year - especially for Karter who was just getting really comfortable with the water on the last day or two!!
We did have beautiful weather (for the swimmers - HOT for the spectators) and we had no rain days so in that way it was a great two weeks.
Konnor the spectator- who didn't really ever sit too still.
Kylie and Arianna waiting for their lesson to start.
Karter doing one of his floats or swims . . . He was a willing pupil, but his fear of water on his face really held him back.
It was fun for him and Mason to be be in the same class.
Konnor and Arianna having a snack while waiting for the other kids to finish their lessons.
The night before his last lesson, Karter started doing "dunks" at home in the pool. He actually thought they were quite great! It didn't take long for him to be jumping in and doing "flips" and "dives" off the deck.I have no doubt that he would easily pass his level if he tried now, but alas at the time, he did not!
There is always next year and I am glad for the things he was taught. He practices them at home (with his floatie on) all the time now.
Kade finished up Level 10 and is now ready to do some Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross in the future. He is a strong swimmer and enjoys it. His favorite is still the diving well though.
Kylie is also flying through her levels and enjoys lessons too. She finished Level 6 this summer and even pulled off a couple dives off the high diving board. Summer did it . . .so she had to too! These two have been good for each other as they go through the levels together.
Karter ready to go off the diving board on the last day! Doesn't he look like he's ready to take flight or something?! The goggles keep the water out of his eyes and at that point that was still a big deal :)
