Snippets

Here are just a few snippets of the last week or two:
We braved the line ups at Canadian Tire, watched as they marked the cutoff one person ahead of us (twice), persevered anyway, and got our two seconds with Dora! Dora was only there for 2 hours and they were not stretching it one minute longer, so the last half hour they were moving people through at a very rapid pace (which was good if you were at the place in the line up that we were). Kylie thought it was pretty special. (She is pretty much in love with anything Dora!) If you think Kylie looks a little tired here it's because she had a cold in her eye and woke up with it completly glued shut that morning . . . a few drops and she was good as new . . . and it didn't come back so that was nice.
A visitor who would not go away. He lingered around all day. The boys would chuck things at it and it would barly move. They thought it would be a good pet. I thought it would be good to keep our distance! I first saw it about a foot away from me as I was cleaning out the sandbox. I screamed. And ran. The kids called it "Raccy". It was gone the next day . . . never to be seeen again . . . maybe it was one of the many I've seen on the side or middle of the road.
Here is Buck and Balto pulling Kylie.

Fall seems to have the most beautiful sunsets! We've also enjoyed a few gorgeous sunrises! I feel like that is something I've missed out on for a long time, but now we sit in the van facing the sun just as it is rising (while we wait for the bus) and it is really amazing.
Part of Kevin's memory work this week is:

O Lord, our Lord, Thou God of our salvation,
How glorious is Thy Name in all creation!
Thou who has set Thy majesty on high
Beyond the skies for man to Glorify.
Sums it up pretty nicely.

  1. You sound like me when it comes to animals :) When we were camping a couple of years ago a raccoon would come up to our campfire to try to still our chips. I kept the axe beside me so I could have something to defend myself with! My friends still make fun of me :)
