We did swimming lessons the first two weeks of July. They were not the warmest weeks, but looking back, I think they may just have been two of the nicer weeks that made up a session. (so far!) The kids were a bit cold, but nothing like they would have been some of the other days we've had recently.
Kylie's lesson started a half hour after the boys, so she had time to play first!
Kevin LOVED his teacher this year. He described him as the funnest awesomest swimming teacher ever. I don't think Kevin complained at all this year about lessons and he was in for an hour! Kevin usually gets cold quickly, but if he was, I didn't hear about it!
Kevin was one of two in a class and had lots of "spare time" to do jumps and dives etc.
They played this game often where as Kevin left the diving board, the teacher would yell out an animal and before Kev hit the water he was supposed to yell out the sound the animal made. Quick thinking (or high jumping!) required!
Kade was one on one for one week and one of two the second week. He also got lots of diving pool time as a result!
Kylie had a bit bigger class, but more instructors and had Summer in her class again this year. They do well with each other . . . spurring each other on!
Summer had no problem with the high diving board, but it wasn't until the last day that Kylie became determined to try. The night before she made up her mind to do it . . .and there wasn't really any hesitation after that.
Waiting in line . . . .
The Jump!
Summer.
Trying to get warm afterwards!
It was a good two weeks. All three kids did well and continue to learn or increase their endurance. They decided amongst themselves that their reward for passing would be going to Clovermead . . . up next!
