Last year we planned a sisters trip to Niagara Falls. It worked - kind of. We missed two of the girls, but had a great time with the rest of us. We kind of thought then that we should do it more often - but were not really expecting it to be an annual thing (remember, the husbands thought once every ten years would be nice). Now, it might not become an annual thing necessarily, but we did get to go two years in a row! And this time we ALL made it. (We nearly missed out on one sister due to her cat becoming crippled the night before and another due to sleeping in and nearly missing the ride, but we ALL MADE IT!!)
The Falls were really beautiful, and I got to enjoy them much more than two weeks prior. It was actually quite lovely with the sunshine on Friday afternoon and we walked and toured for a couple hours. It did get rather chilly near the end, especially since 3/4 of us had soaking wet socks (they just don't make boots - or shoes if that's what you decided to wear Beth - like they used too . . . didn't help that we trudged through the "closed for the season - use at your own risk" sign.
See the rainbow??? Even though my camera batteries died (grrrrr), I managed to wake them up enough to capture the rainbow.
Our two pregnant ladies looking spectacular - Kate with 4 weeks to go and Mare with 10? or so.

The next morning we thought we should take a group picture. (we didn't realize we should have booked a 1/2 hour time slot to do so) It took a rather large number of attempts with three cameras set up automatically and three people running at various times - lots of blur)
But we got a few . . .
And we got smarter too . . .
We had a great time away eating, shopping, touring, swimming and hot tubbing, relaxing, and finding parking spots:) oh . . .and driving . . . a long drive home in the snow storm. Ahhh. Memories!
And a closing one to scare you all:)

(and Niagara Falls is now TWO scarves richer - I lost one with Jonathan and one this time around too . . . guess I've got to tie them up or something)
First of all, I thank you for using your discretion... I got a little nervous when the last words showed up... Also, "he walks like Unlce Ken". Do you think Uncle Ken is crippled? :) That was such a close call... or something. And it IS a yearly thing! Once, twice, always. All the husbands handled it so well, in their own special ways ;} Next time I recomend a snowboard for those "closed for the season" stairs. And rubber boots. I had a fantastic time, the 5 hour drive home from Hamilton just added to the goodness (well except the last 2 hours when I was by myself) Good times!!! That's all :)
ReplyDeleteLooks very fun (and cold)!!! :-)

ReplyDeleteDad says,"I'm glad mom was with me..." So who was the one who slept in?
