Girls Getaway
This past weekend, we sisters/sisters-in law had wonderful plans to get away for a girls weekend. Now this is usually something that gets talked about frequently, but rarely ever actually done. But the idea was out there, and we decided that if we could get four to commit, we were off - well we managed that, so the hotel was booked, and plans began. The weekend arrived and off we went - and then the bumps in the road began. We had plans to drive up in two different vehicles b/c of the way things worked out. We were on our way, when we got the call that Beth had been in an accident. She got rear ended and although she was mostly fine, her car was totalled and she would definitely not be able to join us any more. So that put a damper on things. But we were very thankful to the Lord that He kept her safe, though she is/was very sore. So Kate all of the sudden needed to tag up with us, so that she wouldn't have to travel by her lonesome. Well she made it - but not before being pulled over by a cop for major speeding!!! But she was let off, (not sure exactly how the sob story went, but I bet it was good:)), and the four of us were on our way.
After checking in and getting organized (very NEATLY), we began some sightseeing. It seems like too often when we go to the Falls, we don't actually see them, b/c it is 1)very cold and 2) parking is always a hike away if you want to pay a decent price. But it wasn't terribly cold, and we were prepared, so off we went. The Falls were beautiful as always.
The three sisters.
Kate, Mel, and Mare
Of course there are lots of touristy things along the way . . . .

Saturday Fun!
On Saturday, we headed out to Darwin and Carrie's to enjoy the recently accumulated snow. Though there wasn't a ton of snow, there was enough for us to take the snowmobiles for a few spins. Kade and Meika were first up . . .
Meika driving - Kade riding!
And of course - Kylie was inside waiting while we got them going . . . and she wasn't too happy about it all. "I scared!" she says.
So, if you can't beat em . . . join em! We got Kylie, as well as myself suited up and ready for a RIDE!!

Doesn't she look impressed?
She did enjoy the ride. On the toboggan behind the snowmobile, as well as ON the snowmobile with me. Lots of fun. And then it was my turn - to ride the toboggan and for Carrie to try to get me off . . . she did. Three times. Actually - only two. The middle time I stayed on - even though I was upside down:) The first time, I got my boots knocked right off. There they sat. Perfectly situated on the toboggan where I had initially put them:) Oh yes. Lots of fun. We used to do this all the time growing up -but behind the three-wheelers - so it kind of brought me back 20 years! Good times!

Our Visitor
We all LOVED having him over.
Though he probably was the only normal one in our household and may have found US slightly CRAZY!!!
Kevin really loved having someone who likes to be outside. Kevin loves it in the snow, but Kade is generally a little harder to convince that he should head outside. But Isaiah was always game. He and Kevin spent a lot of time outside together. Kevin even got him into skates . . . . . . . though He didn't tie them up too good . . . and they had a little hockey game on the driveway. We had SO much fun with Isaiah and we miss having him here. Thanks for coming buddy and we can't wait to see you again.
