Christmas

Here are a few of the Christmas scenes from our house this past week.

Anticipation is half of the excitement of "Christmas". The boys did relatively well, but Jonathan still thought they were extremely hyper. (though he was quick to admit that it reminded him immensely of himself as a child!)

Kylie was at a really fun stage this year. She opened a gift - with help from her eager brothers, would give a very expressive "OHHH" and would admire, look at, examine, and play with the gift. (In stark contrast to the boys who ripped the present open, give it a cursory glance and perhaps a "COOL!", and quickly look to the tree for the next one - curiosity wins over manners - and I guess they figure - "Open em all up, and THEN . . . .we'll play!" Oh well, it's fun anyway!

  3. Love the pictures! I feel like every year Christmas is more special. We keep it very simple in the way of gifts, this year just one a piece, and we opened them a week before Christmas on Dan's weekend off..the Sunday that we were snowed in! We spent the Sunday, reading the Christmas story, singing caroles, the boys playing games with daddy...and than the gifts! Yes, I remember to well the anticipation! My mom would usually still be wrapping on the day we opened them! Jon and Josh would be so hyper! Good memories!
Anyway, tell Jon that I have a nicer Christmas card for you...I heard he was upset that I hadn't sent yours yet...(Becks and Jo thought that I should just hand deliver since we were coming down so soon!) Love you guys!

  4. Denise...who gets 2 stockings....or were you trying to tell us something...:) Cute Pictures. Kylie looks so old now...she's not a baby anymore. Such a beautiful little girl. Looks like you had fun. It is so much fun when the kids get excited about opening gifts. Mackenzie was scared to open them. She wouldn't touch them when they were wrapped but as soon as they were out she would play with them. Merry Christmas.

  6. Well the mystery of the 6 stockings is as simple as this - use as many as it takes to fit the stuff in - in this case it was 3 for Jonathan, and 1 for each kid. No secret revelations:)

  7. Great pictures as usual Denise! I love the picture of Kylie with the doll. I think it is always so cute to seee a little girl with a doll. Our kids were very excited for their gifts to, and for some reason you always feel like telling them to stop being so crazy, but it is all part of the excitement of Christmas.
