Girls Weekend

Last year we planned a sisters trip to Niagara Falls. It worked - kind of. We missed two of the girls, but had a great time with the rest of us. We kind of thought then that we should do it more often - but were not really expecting it to be an annual thing (remember, the husbands thought once every ten years would be nice). Now, it might not become an annual thing necessarily, but we did get to go two years in a row! And this time we ALL made it. (We nearly missed out on one sister due to her cat becoming crippled the night before and another due to sleeping in and nearly missing the ride, but we ALL MADE IT!!)

The Falls were really beautiful, and I got to enjoy them much more than two weeks prior. It was actually quite lovely with the sunshine on Friday afternoon and we walked and toured for a couple hours. It did get rather chilly near the end, especially since 3/4 of us had soaking wet socks (they just don't make boots - or shoes if that's what you decided to wear Beth - like they used too . . . didn't help that we trudged through the "closed for the season - use at your own risk" sign.

See the rainbow??? Even though my camera batteries died (grrrrr), I managed to wake them up enough to capture the rainbow.

Our two pregnant ladies looking spectacular - Kate with 4 weeks to go and Mare with 10? or so.

The next morning we thought we should take a group picture. (we didn't realize we should have booked a 1/2 hour time slot to do so) It took a rather large number of attempts with three cameras set up automatically and three people running at various times - lots of blur)
But we got a few . . .

And we got smarter too . . .
We had a great time away eating, shopping, touring, swimming and hot tubbing, relaxing, and finding parking spots:) oh . . .and driving . . . a long drive home in the snow storm. Ahhh. Memories!
And a closing one to scare you all:)
Thanks for making this work girls (and hubbies too!) Looking forward to next time!!!!
(and Niagara Falls is now TWO scarves richer - I lost one with Jonathan and one this time around too . . . guess I've got to tie them up or something)

Niagara Falls - Limited Edition

We made it out to Niagara Falls last weekend finally for our anniversary (back in October). We dropped the kids of at JM and Becky's and were off to enjoy one of the most frigid weekends ever. It was really to bad, b/c I had grand dreams of getting out lots and walking and seeing things. But it was just SOOO cold. But we did venture out and see the Isaac Brock memorial and walk through the park there for a bit. (Jonathan loves history, so this is right up his alley).
One picture of Jonathan -- that's all the frozen fingers allowed.
(and he was making fun of me for closing one eye when he was trying to take a picture of me. Phht!)
The views were lovely . . .
. . . especially from inside the van . . .
We did jump out of the van and see the Falls at night with the lights and it was pretty pretty.
And then we jumped back in. (the van, not the Falls)
Anyhow, we had a good time away relaxing, shopping, eating, and relaxing.

Another momentous occasion I thought I'd share. I emptied my "telephone" file from my filing cabinet. (1 file down, many more to go) You see I can't fit hardly another paper in my drawer, so something had to go . . .
. . . .So to the recycling goes 10 years of telephone bills. I know I'm crazy and a pack rat and I don't have a CLUE!!! who I'd get that from!!!
Don't worry Mom - I saved one from every other year or so for posterity or good memories or whatever;0) . . .

Princesses and other Paraphernalia

When friends come to play . . .
Yah, I know I should have fixed the bobbypin before the picture, but after I did, they wouldn't pose anymore . . . that seems to be how it goes .
A bigger princess. (a very happy and beautiful one too)
(Kylie has been dressing up all day today in her white "princess dress" after seeing Brenda get married on Saturday.)
Kade with his longer hair . . . I like it mostly . . .except with wearing hats to school everyday, we never style it and it really just looks like a bit of a mop most of the time. So it looks good on Sundays:)

Someone told me Christmas was over. This is my attempt at an update:)
(afterall . . .even Jo did an update today . . .talk about inspiration:))
